Metro Denver, Colorado Hotels

The Brown Palace in downtown Denver is one of the great names in Colorado hotels. It opened in 1892 and has been host to Presidents, royalty, and movie stars.

The Oxford Hotel in the LoDo District (lower downtown Denver) is another historic jewel. Built in 1891, the hotel was designed by the same architect who designed the Brown Palace the following year. The Oxford was re-modeled in Art Deco style in the 1930s and has been extensively restored.

Both the Oxford and the Brown Palace are members of the National Trust's Historic Hotels of America. There are 7 more of these historic gems in Colorado, including Hotel Jerome in Aspen and Hotel Boulderado in Boulder.
